The Role
At Lejit, we need a Sr. AI-native Full-stack Software Engineer: the most technical generalist role, where the model loop is the product.
What You Will Do
- Design agent loops for legal workflows (intake, drafting, review, redlining) with explicit state machines, tool registries, sandboxed execution and clean cancellation behaviour.
- Build streaming-first React/Next.js interfaces and Python/FastAPI backends with typed boundaries around model output.
- Create a provider-independent model layer that routes across major APIs and local models, plus embeddings and rerankers for legal RAG.
- Own data, reliability and cost engineering: Postgres/pgvector, Redis, retries, eval gates, traces, token budgets and prompt caching.
- Keep legal work checkable: source grounding, citations and audit trails that lawyers can verify.
What We Need
- 3–5+ years of software engineering.
- Production TypeScript and Python.
- A shipped LLM system that goes beyond an API wrapper.
- Strong systems-level debugging.
